FULL WEBSITE AUDIT
Get a Complete Website Audit and Improve Your Performance
Review your website across technical SEO, content, UX, performance, security basics and search visibility with a prioritized improvement plan. SmartEdge IT Solutions can conduct a broad website audit that brings technical, content, search and user-experience findings together in one report.
Overview
SmartEdge IT Solutions can conduct a broad website audit that brings technical, content, search and user-experience findings together in one report. The review can cover technical SEO, crawlability and indexing, on-page SEO, heading structure, metadata, internal linking, broken links, schema and structured data, mobile usability, page speed and Core Web Vitals, image optimization, content quality, duplicate or copied content checks, keyword and topic relevance, AEO/GEO readiness, basic security checks, UX and conversion paths, and competitor/search-visibility observations.
Findings are prioritized so a business can distinguish urgent technical problems from content and optimization opportunities. The audit can be used as a standalone diagnostic or as the starting point for a broader improvement plan.

AUDIT SCORECARD
What the audit covers
The audit is organised by the area a finding belongs to, because the person who has to fix it usually lives in one place. Within each area, findings are ranked by impact and effort so the first month of work is unambiguous.
Technical SEO
- Crawlability and indexing Status codes, redirects, index coverage, robots directives and sitemaps.
- Rendering and duplicates Canonical handling, parameter URLs, faceted navigation and duplicate paths.
- HTTP status and broken links Internal and external failures that disrupt crawling and user journeys.
On-page and content
- Metadata and headings Titles, descriptions and heading structure against the intent of each page.
- Internal linking Depth, orphan pages and whether authority flows to the pages that need it.
- Content quality Depth, duplication, accuracy, consistency and whether the topic is covered.
Performance and mobile
- Core Web Vitals Measured on real pages, with causes such as render blocking, layout shift and image weight identified.
- Asset weight Scripts, styles, fonts and images, with the heaviest contributors listed.
- Mobile usability Tap targets, viewport behaviour, text sizing and horizontal overflow.
Accessibility
- Structure and semantics Landmarks, heading order, labels and alternative text.
- Contrast and focus Colour contrast and visible focus state against WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Keyboard operation Whether every interactive element can be reached and operated without a mouse.
Security basics and structured data
- Transport and headers HTTPS configuration, mixed content and security header hygiene.
- Exposed surface Publicly reachable files, directory listings and known dependency risk.
- Schema validation Accuracy of structured data, and removal of anything misleading or unused.
A STANDALONE DIAGNOSTIC
A report, not a sales document
- Written to be actionable Every finding describes the problem, the evidence and the likely fix.
- Prioritised honestly Ranked by impact, effort and dependency, with the reasoning stated.
- Written for action Clear enough for your own developer or another supplier to act on without a briefing.
- Comparable Written so you can compare it against quotes you obtain elsewhere.
WHY IT MATTERS
What changes when this is done properly
- A defensible order of work Findings arrive in order of consequence and cost with the reasoning stated, so SmartEdge IT Solutions hands over a sequence the client can question rather than accept.
- Two problems confused for one Separating technical faults from content and design issues usually reveals which is actually costing traffic, and which was a distraction from it.
- Evidence you can act on Each significant finding names the page, the check and the observed result, which lets a developer begin work without repeating the whole audit.
- Answers before rebuilding The report distinguishes what a redesign would fix from what configuration would, preventing an expensive rebuild being commissioned for a solvable problem.
- A baseline for later comparison Recorded measurements give a starting point, so the effect of subsequent work can be checked instead of argued about from memory.
AUDIT PROCESS
How an audit runs
- Scope We agree what the audit is for: a technical review, a content review, a commercial review or all three, and who will act on it. You receive that scope in writing, because an audit with no stated purpose produces a list nobody uses.
- Crawl and collect We crawl the site, collect the performance and accessibility data, check the structured data and review the content against the audience. You receive the raw evidence as well as the summary, so the findings can be checked.
- Review We review what we collected against the scope and separate what is genuinely broken from what is merely different from a preference. You receive findings with severity and evidence for each.
- Prioritise We prioritise by impact and effort, and we mark anything that is a risk rather than an improvement. You receive a prioritised list you can put into a plan and cost honestly.
- Report and handover We present the findings and hand over the report and the supporting data. You receive a document that is useful to a developer, a writer and a decision-maker, not only to us.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions about this service
A written report with every finding described in plain language, the evidence behind it, an estimate of effort, an indication of impact, and a recommended order of work. It is written so that a competent developer or your own team can act on it without a further briefing, and so that you can compare it against quotes you obtain elsewhere.
Most of it, yes. A crawl, performance measurement, content and structure review, and basic security checks can all be done from the public site. What genuinely needs access is Search Console data, analytics, staging and server-level information, and those checks add a great deal of value. We will tell you exactly which parts each level of access unlocks.
It depends on the size of the site and the depth of the review. A small site can be covered thoroughly in a few days; a large site with many templates takes longer, because the value comes from checking representative templates thoroughly rather than sampling superficially. You will get a schedule before we start.
We will not give you a single number, and we would be cautious of any audit that does. A score out of 100 hides which findings matter, and a site serving a small local business does not need the same work as a national retailer. You will get a prioritised list, which is more useful than a grade and considerably harder to misinterpret.
Both options exist, and SmartEdge IT Solutions will say which makes sense. If we already maintain the site, implementing the fixes is usually faster than writing a report somebody else has to interpret. If your team or another agency owns it, findings are delivered in a form they can act on: what is wrong, where it is, what the change involves, what risk sits behind it, and what we would do. Either way the audit is written for an engineer, and the order of work is agreed in our process rather than left as a ranked list.
The common, checkable issues: HTTPS configuration and mixed content, cookie and security headers, exposed directory listings, outdated frameworks or plugins with known problems, leftover backup files and routine information disclosure. That is a review of a site's public surface, not a penetration test, and SmartEdge IT Solutions is explicit about that. We do not simulate attacks, probe authenticated areas or attempt exploitation, and we do not present the result as a security assurance. If you need that, a qualified security assessor is the right engagement.
Yes, as an automated pass followed by a manual one against the current accessibility guidelines. Tools catch a good share of problems quickly, but much of what matters needs a person: keyboard order, visible focus, meaningful link text, error messaging, heading structure, and whether the task can be completed with a screen reader. Each issue is recorded against the guideline it fails and the page it affects, so fixes can be prioritised and then verified. We apply the same standard during UI and UX design, before problems exist.
Then the crawl has to be configured correctly, or we end up reviewing an empty shell. Rendering-dependent pages are fetched as a browser sees them, and we check whether each template produces readable content without executing script, since crawlers differ in how they render. We also look for the patterns that cause trouble: content injected after load, infinite scroll hiding older pages, and navigation built entirely in script. SmartEdge IT Solutions gives you the real render rather than a sample and states any crawl limitation in the report, which overlaps with technical SEO.
