Who operates this website

SmartEdge IT Solutions operates this website. In this policy, “SmartEdge”, “we” and “us” all mean SmartEdge IT Solutions, and “you” and “your” mean the person reading it.

This policy covers this website only: the pages you browse and the forms you submit here. It is not a client agreement. If you are a client and we are working on a system that holds your data, the confidentiality terms in your written agreement with us govern that data, not this page.

Information you choose to give us

There are three places on this site where you can type something into a form. Nothing is collected about you unless you send it, and no field is filled in on your behalf.

Contact and enquiry form

You choose what your message is about, give us a name, an email address and a way to reach you, and describe what you need. We use it to answer you.

Developer requirement form

Where you are looking to hire a developer, we ask for the role, the skills you need, your budget range, your timing and how you want to be contacted. A longer description of the work is optional. We use it to prepare a proposal and to decide whether we are the right fit.

Job applications

We ask for your name, email address, phone number if you want to give one, your location and where you found the role, and you attach a CV or write something about yourself. We keep it while the role is open and for as long afterwards as a candidate record is useful, and you can ask us to delete it at any point.

What this website does not collect

We do not ask for payment details, and the site has no checkout. We do not collect special-category personal data. We do not ask a visitor under 16 to send us anything.

Information collected automatically

The visitor cookie

One cookie, named smartedge_visitor, is set the first time you visit. It remembers that you have already answered the cookie question so that we do not ask you again. It is kept for 180 days and it holds only a format number, your answer and the date and time you gave it.

Web server logs

Like any website, our host records requests in server logs: the page requested, the time, the referring page, the browser and operating system reported by your browser, and the network address the request came from. Logs are kept for a short operational period and then deleted. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are not combined with the information you send through a form.

Cookies and your consent

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store and send back on later requests. Some are strictly necessary — without them a site cannot remember that you dismissed a cookie banner. The rest are optional and are used to measure or to personalise, and optional cookies are the reason a consent banner exists at all. The Cookie Policy sets out the position in full.

Until you choose Accept All, this site loads no analytics and no third-party scripts. You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie preferences link in the footer, and the site behaves the same either way.

Analytics

If you accept, the site loads Google Analytics, which reports aggregated page views, referrers and device categories. It does not set advertising cookies and it is not used to build an advertising profile. If you do not accept, no analytics script is requested at all.

Why we use what we collect

To answer an enquiry, to prepare a proposal, to consider an application, to keep the site running and secure, and to understand which pages are useful. Nothing else. We do not use what you send us to build an advertising profile, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

We share it only with the people who need it to do the work you asked for: the team member who handles your enquiry, or the hiring manager for a role. We use a hosting provider and, if you have accepted analytics, Google Analytics — both of which process it on our instructions under their own terms. We do not sell it, and we do not disclose it to anyone else unless we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

An enquiry that does not become a project is kept for two years, so that if you come back to us we still have the context. A client record is kept for as long as the relationship lasts and for the period afterwards that our professional and tax obligations require. An application is kept while the role is open and for up to a year afterwards. Server logs are kept for a short operational period only.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the inbox that receives enquiries is limited to the people who need it, and every form is checked for validity before it is accepted. Where we hold information about a client project, the controls are set out in the written agreement for that project.

Your choices and your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. You can withdraw a consent at any time from the Cookie preferences link in the footer, and you can object to us using an enquiry to contact you. Email us and we will deal with it.

Children

This site is a business site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
